Bill and Ben Meet Broku - Full Comic

Description

Redraw of this: fav.me/d75sw6v

Bill and Ben are shunting trucks in Edward's yard.  They bump the trucks, rather recklessly.

Box Van: Ow!
Coal Truck: You'll pay dearly for this!

Just then, a strange figure appears in front of the twins, stopping them in their tracks (no pun intended).

Bill: Wh-who are you?
Figure: I am Broku, and I am looking for my daughter, Xegito.
Ben: Bill, we better listen to him.  Who knows what he might do to us?
Bill: But Ben, we don't know where this "Ze-something-or-other" is, or even what she looks like.
Broku: I know you're talking about me!  If you don't tell me where my daughter is, I'll destroy this entire yard!
(Trucks squirm)
Ben: Um, well... what does she look like?
Broku: All I can tell you is that she is a tall girl who has blue hair, and antennae that look like wings.
Ben: Hmm, well, we did see a strange sighting of a tall, blue-haired girl around, earlier today.  Maybe that's her.
Broku: All right.  But I hope you're not bluffing! (Leaves)

The twins weren't bluffing.  But Broku wanted to make sure of it.  Both twins and trucks were very frightened indeed of this being.

NOTES:
- Bill and Ben are more of an orangey-yellow because that's the color they were in the books.  On that note...
- If you remember the episode, "The Diseasel" in which the twins' drivers said they'd take away their names and numbers... well, that's because they had numbers over their faces in the books as well.  In fact, I do remember once seeing this picture of one of the twins' TV model with a numberplate over his face, but the number was very small, and they presumably didn't want it to fall off (plus, Thomas and Edward are Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, so perhaps they didn't want kids to get confused).
- The grey tank wagon is actually a china clay tank wagon.  It's used to transfer wet clay, whereas dry clay goes into open trucks that are covered up in tarpaulins called "hoods".

UPDATE: Added Bill and Ben's handrails in the second panel.

I can imagine how you feel about those numbers, especially since there are lots of engines in the Railway Series numbered 1 and 2. Thomas, Edward; Bill, Ben; Skarloey, Rheneas; Godred, Ernest; am I missing any others? Still, I like the Railway Series books. Anyway, nice job on the comic. I wonder if Bill and Ben will be kept in line as a result of this guy.
